Face it. Vegas loves Brady.
As long as Tom Brady is the New England Patriots’ quarterback, it seems the Pats will always be favored to win the Super Bowl — even though he just turned 41 years old. Nothing’s really changed for the 2018-19 season, considering the Patriots are once again atop the bet365 list for clubs to capture the NFL title next February in Atlanta, Georgia.
As of August 22, bet365 had the Patriots at +500 to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy, while last year’s winners, the Philadelphia Eagles, were next at +900 along with the Green Bay Packers. As usual, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a legitimate threat with Ben Roethlisberger returning once again. They’re listed at +1000. Other squads given a reasonable chance:
LA Rams at +1100
Minnesota Vikings at +1200
New Orleans Saints at +1800
Atlanta Falcons at +1800
If you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan, you’ll find them at +2000 along with the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers. As for dark horses this year, the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders are both given the same chance at +3300 with the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants at +4000.
Ranked just ahead of those clubs are the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and LA Chargers at +2500 and the Kansas City Chiefs at +2800.
If you want some longshot action, the New York Jets sit at +15000 with the Chicago Bears coming in at +10000. You knew the Cleveland Browns would near the bottom — and they most certainly are. The Browns are at +8000 along with the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals.
When it comes to the middle of the road teams, we find the Washington Redskins at +5000, followed by the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +6600. Of course. the odds will change throughout the season depending on injuries and how well the teams are playing, but there’s nothing like the thrill of picking a Super Bowl champion just before the season kicks off.
Note: Odds were correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change.
