For the past couple of weeks, NFL rumor mills have been reporting the Detroit Lions @ New Orleans Saints game on December 4th was a candidate to be moved to Sunday Night Football.

Sunday Night Football
This morning, the NFL confirmed NBC would use their flex rights to move the game into prime time.

Via DetroitLions.com:

The NFL has flexed the Lions vs. Saints game to their featured Sunday Night game at 8:30 p.m. on NBC. Dec. 4. The game was originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. start in New Orleans.

It will be the first time the Lions are featured on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

7-3 Lions vs 7-3 Saints should be a very entertaining game with huge playoff implications. Originally, the 0-10 Colts were to take on the 6-3 Patriots, of which the only implications would be for the drafting of Andrew Luck.  So it's no surprise NBC wanted what should be the highlight game for week 13 in prime time.

With the Packers coming to town for Thanksgiving, and the Saints matchup the following weekend, the Lions will be nationally televised the next 2 weeks. 3 nationally braodcast Lions games in 1 season? We really are in bizarro world.

bizarro worldDC should be featuring the Detroit Lions instead of Bizarro Superman!

If this is what it's like to be a fan of a good team, I like it!
